Goal event is one of our newest additions to The Collection. In the aim of getting the destination known on the Benelux market they invited 10 MICE planners on an inspirational trip to get to know Riga. Being recognized as one of the top 5 destinations in Europe in 2015, it made Goal Events very proud to offer us this trip to Latvia, one of the new hot spots in Europe.
The trip includes a comfortable stay at Radisson Blu Hotel Elizabete and an exciting three-day program filled with best new restaurants, breath-taking adventures and fresh air of Latvia’s rich nature.
Upon our arrival we were greeted at the airport and transported to the hotel, where we had a short moment to relax in our hotel rooms. The first meeting we had was with the AirBaltic representative in one of the most special places in Riga – the Sky Line bar of the Radisson Blu Latvia Hotel. It is a place with a stunning panorama over the city and excellent place to take a group for a welcome drink or a great night out.
Next, we indulged in a city tour with a knowledgeable guide where we learned about the surprising history and heard many interesting stories about Riga and its inhabitants. Along the way we also explored true Latvian kitchen and tried traditional Riga Balsam. The tour finished with a dinner at one of the newest and already one of the most highly recognized restaurants in Latvia. This is where we tasted quality food and saw the skills of some top chefs.
The next morning we started off with some jeep 4×4 off road ride, where we had a chance to drive on our own in the beautiful nature of Latvia and enjoy a refreshing surprise right in the woods.
We stopped at the restaurant Kungu Rija – a place with delicious traditional Latvian cuisine.
The Secret Soviet Bunker was surprising and fun at the same time. We met with a soviet officer who allowed us to enter the secret soviet bunker, which was built only for the top elite of Soviet Union in case of bombing treats.
We travelled back to the capital and have some time to refresh at the hotel. We were then taken to Andrejsala to try our hand in ice sculpting followed by a dinner at one of the hottest restaurants in Riga – “Koya”. It is a trendy restaurant that has a great atmosphere and is right next to the bay of river Daugava.
On the last day we made some exciting discoveries starting with the visit to restaurant Garage. We went there on a tour in PanCars, fun and colourful fiats. We visited Jurmala and restaurant 36th Line, a magnificent place for gala dinners and finished with a mini cooking workshop at restaurant “3 Chefs” with their famous chefs.
It was time to go home, we were taken by a group of Harley Davidson to the airport were our luggage was waiting for us. We felt that we weren’t finished with Riga just yet, in the sense that there is always something to discover and something new evolves every day. One thing that is lasting though, is our memories of Riga and Latvia which are great ones! But we will definitely be back very soon!
