ABChardIn the Paris region there are around 150 vineyards, thanks to an initiative promoted by “Les Vignerons Franciliens Réunis”, a group of passionate winemakers. There are over 30 types of wines from the area of Paris, most famously including Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.

European regulations restrict the creation of new vineyards, so most are experimental, educational and community projects, but some are open to visitors. In addition to those on the slopes of Montmartre, it is possible to visit the vineyards of Issy-Les-Moulineaux, Suresnes, and Rueil-Malmaison.

Paris also has a museum dedicated to the subject of wine, the “Musée du Vin Paris”
